After years in the cutting horse world, I know a shirt has to work through more than the few minutes you spend in the show pen. You may be getting a horse ready, waiting for your draw, riding, and staying at the show long afterward. Cool Ride was made with those long days in mind.
Four-way stretch that moves with you
The first difference you’ll notice is the fabric. Cool Ride has four-way stretch, so it gives as you bring your arms forward, turn through your shoulders, and settle into the saddle. It feels different from one of our more structured cotton shirts.
Try one on and reach toward an imaginary pair of reins. That simple movement tells you much more about a riding shirt than looking at it with your arms at your sides.
Lightweight fabric for a long day
Cool Ride fabric is lightweight and moisture-wicking. If you prefer a shirt that feels less structured on a warm or active day, that combination may be exactly what you’re looking for. You still get a button-down look that feels at home in the show pen.
Moisture-wicking fabric helps move moisture away from your skin, but no shirt can make a hot day disappear. The point is to choose the feel that helps you stay comfortable while you focus on your horse and everything else the day brings.

A performance fabric alone wouldn’t make this a Frank & Rio shirt. We kept the details I care about when I ride: a tailored silhouette, sleeves with extra length, a longer shirttail, and strategically placed front buttons to help prevent gapping.
Those choices are practical. I want a shirt that stays tucked and lets me reach forward without feeling as though I need to straighten it every few minutes. I also want it to look sharp when I step off my horse.

How to care for a Cool Ride shirt
Follow the care instructions on your specific shirt. For our current Cool Ride styles, we recommend machine washing on delicate, tumbling on low for a few minutes, then hanging to dry. Do not iron.
